Serving as one such success story and a versatile talent is Dr Muhammad Affan Qaiser, the man who has been making a lot of headlines for his astuteness as a doctor and his creative abilities as a medical journalist and writer.
Giving one’s life towards what one loves and making sure to inspire greatness and innovation in all that they choose to lay their hands on is something people must learn from Dr Qaiser. Across Pakistan, this man has achieved outstandingly as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Transplant Hepatologist, who so far has done over 500 liver transplants while also rising as one of the most sought-after medical journalists, influential medical bloggers, vloggers and writers in medical articles.
It is essential to throw some light on his journey, which began in 2004 in the medical field. Dr Qaiser studied in the medical college in 2007 and graduated in 2012 from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College. He did training in FCPS Gastroenterology in the country’s top centres, cleared the super speciality exam in 2020 and went ahead to do super specialization transplant Hepatology from Tianjin, PR China and later, Gambat Liver Transplant Program in Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences.
Writing about the medical field was something that truly fascinated him, and thus, he dived deep as a pioneer of medical journalism in the country in 2009. Dr Qaiser worked as a columnist in daily Nawe-e-Waqt, Daily Express, and even worked as a radio host. Since the last four years, he has been working with Pakistan’s prominent digital media Urdu Point as the senior anchorperson and analyst lead with millions of followers, after working with Daily Pakistan as senior anchorperson.
Talking about his achievements in the medical field, Dr Qaiser did MBBS FCPS (Gastroenterology/Hepatology) and Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology from top National and International Institutes of the World. Furthermore, as a writer, he received the Best Writer’s Award 2018 and was conferred with the Best post-graduate trainee and lead analyst award at several forums.
